      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>12/28/25. Probably the best of the series so far - a good mystery, interesting history, lots of personal drama.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>12/28/25. A reread and as wonderful and timely as ever. She is such a marvel and absolutely one of my favorite ever writers.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>12/24/25. Not as good as the other Hiaasen books this year but fun nonetheless.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>12/18/25. I really liked this but it was pretty upsetting. Great writing, well-threaded storytelling, very sad picture of Me Too and misogyny.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/ac445867-3889-4976-8b5d-6b82925671b7/IMG_7527.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>12/12/25. I give up! Just cannot care less about the Ranger who is such a bad cop who makes overall very bad decisions. The Texas history is interesting but this did not have to be a thin mystery, it should have been something else.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/4f1f7a45-e425-4a34-93ca-910bba81c243/IMG_7497.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>12/9/25. The best in the series thus far, though took me a bit to get into it. A lot more story and plot than just murder, but pretty good once it all connected.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/f62d9e29-2cd4-4bea-aa00-f15cff567cb7/IMG_7439.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/29/25. A beautiful masterpiece of a book. Loved the writing, the syntax, the imagery. Sad but phenomenal storytelling. Almost gave up after the first 30 minutes but eternally grateful I didn't - this is definitely in my top 5 of the year.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/26. Getting more invested in the detectives but the plot is still surprising and I just can't believe how often they interview suspects over meals and drinks. Seems a bit unprofessional but what do I know!</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/0a86b170-4899-4060-a0a0-c7b8bcab1a72/IMG_7399.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/23/25. I had read another book by this author a while back but I didn't love this one. Just don't feel sympathy for the Ranger but the plot was ok.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/17/25. Engrossing, funny, and fascinating. Surprisingly sad! But really imaginative and worth the read.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/10/25. My mom implored me to keep reading the series and I've definitely warmed to the writing and the detectives. Felt like the plot was too out of left field to guess, though.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/254e010a-c942-41ba-838a-45651cf8ea29/IMG_7278.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/6/25. A fun listen and I really like the detective in this book. Not crazy about the other cast of characters but I enjoyed it overall.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>11/2/25. Very creepy book and finished it the night after I gave birth. A decent thriller with an interesting portrayal of divorce but not my favorite.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/17f54fb3-92c8-46f8-a60a-713e28818222/IMG_7193.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>10/31/25. Pretty weird to read a book about a plane crash amidst a seeming slew of real life crashes. Have thought about this book a lot and really like the writing.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/c06b7e23-741f-46d3-b2a5-80087d382738/IMG_7167.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>10/25/25. Almost gave up after part 1, but then part 2 started to get more interesting. I would've liked it more if it was shorter, and I care nothing about fashion, so I'm not even sure why I listened haha.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>10/19/25. Gave her another try and I liked this more than Chocolat but was still unimpressed. Fairy tales are hard to mess up but it was weirdly sexist??</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/4d17e3a3-72a9-4ac1-bb1e-db1ab019a084/IMG_7117.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>10/15/25. This was a lot of fun. Definitely triggering for disordered eaters but otherwise sweet and delectable and more than a little sexy.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/49407d5d-938c-4a49-9099-ec48527092ae/IMG_7076.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>10/8/25. This is a reread and I liked it well enough the first time around, but absolutely loved it this time. A beautiful novel about love, sex, loss, and so much ecology. She's such a wonderful writer.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/5707f3b3-fc6e-4eca-a61e-bec5a6745c72/IMG_7029.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>9/24/25. Didn't really love this one - thought the detective was a little too high and mighty, not to mention ageist and fatphobic. But the mystery was engaging and I didn't see it coming.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/8378bcf0-a74c-41fe-a1ca-7cdc0626cccd/IMG_7024.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>9/21/25. Harrowing and exceedingly clever. Even though I somehow never read Huck Finn, I couldn't put this book down. I'll be thinking about this for a long time.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/659f6e4f-d95f-45a9-a798-d0663b436e90/IMG_7007.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>9/20/25. This was an utterly delightful coming-of-age novel. Funny, sweet, and genuine, darling Mary Jane learns about sex, drugs, and rock and roll all in one summer. A really fun audiobook as well.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/cd738e89-48df-4b95-a757-f4cf9236042d/IMG_6970.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>9/9/25. Not at all what I expected. I thought this would be a lot more titillating, but instead it was philosophical, though fell flat for me. I didn't like any of the main characters and the premise just never made any sense.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/99e31271-bdcd-4c81-bf46-b040e1128f7e/IMG_6930.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>9/3/25 - Absolutely absurd book, laugh out loud funny, while sometimes poignant and even sad. A treatise on what it means to lose everything, do nothing, and take a hell of a lot of drugs.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/b60aef73-ad7f-4feb-b569-89de91796d12/IMG_6815.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>8/27/25 - Utterly fun, and as I'm learning about Hiaasen, satisfying in the way that only novels can truly be.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>8/19/25 - A fabulous read by an old friend from college (!!). A total gut punch, hit a bit close to home, and really excellent writing.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>8/18/25 - Loved this immensely. A fun mystery (that I guessed! but not because it was too easy) and great writing with breaking the fourth wall. Delightful.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>8/12/25 - I always have high hopes for Okorafor but I just don't love her characters. The story was meaningful and thought-provoking though.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>7/31/25 - I love Colson Whitehead but this book just took me forever to read. It was basically a hundred or more vignettes, so while the writing is excellent, it never captured my interest for more than a few chapters at a time.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>7/28/25 - A great recommendation from my aunt. Good mystery, interesting suspects, wonderful detective.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>7/19/25. Very fun and laugh-out-loud absurdist picture of modern day America, only the bad guys actually get what's coming to them, making it more of a fantasy than reality. Read it in just a few days and definitely needed the laugh.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>7/18/25. Very strange, almost stream of consciousness writing about the history of murderous science, physics, and strange and smart men.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>6/9/25. Fun at first but a little too black and white - church bad, witch good. Never saw the movie and honestly probably won't now.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>6/7/25. Very strange book about an aging assassin. Interesting insight in what it means to be an old woman in society, with a bunch of action. The characters weren't super well developed but it was a fun listen.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>2025</image:title>
      <image:caption>6/2/25. Not my preferred style of writing and I wasn't crazy about the characters or their paths, but I learned a lot about Malaysia and the Japanese during WWII. Ultimately very sad, unsurprisingly.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>4/9/25. One of the most influential books I've ever read - totally upended so many ideas and beliefs about dieting, fatness, weight, and our society. A must read if you've ever eaten or thought about food before, especially if you're raising children.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>3/15/25. Zadie Smith is a difficult writer. Lots of playing with time and characters with little exposition. Took me a long time to finish but ultimately a pretty stunning book.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>2/24/25. A sweet space opera. Not thrilling, but light and enjoyable. Clearly influenced by The Expanse but not nearly as good. Will still likely read the rest of the trilogy because we all need a little more levity right now.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>2/22/25. A real delight. My cousin recommended it before she died last year and it was almost like we got to have a conversation again through this absurd and very funny book about onlyfans and family and motherhood. While it wasn't all so believable that didn't really matter, because I laughed out loud a whole lot.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>3/26/29. Fast-moving, quippy series. Still loving these books! Excited to get passed the TV show to see how they differ from the other side.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>3/25/26. A group of women on the cusp of 40 who have been friends for 20+ years, living in Chicago, NY, Austin (and SF) - sounds a lot like my real life. A beautifully written, if sad, novel about the power of friendship over time, how the fierce love women have for each other can trump so many awful things in life (these women were married to some terrible men!), and buoy the best of times. This really spoke to me.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>3/19/26. These poor detectives cannot catch a break - murder is everywhere in their lives! I sort of knew where this was going the whole time but it was a fun read nonetheless.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>3/17/26. This is my second read and I adored it as much as the first listen (on audiobook). And after my second child, I have not read such an apt description of how difficult newborns can be yet how fiercely we can love them anyway. So highly recommend this whether or not you know/care about Greek mythology because it all just boils down to what it means to be human.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>3/6/26. A little too much going on plot-wise but a still a good mystery. Not too obvious but not too obtuse. Kincaid drove me a little nuts here though.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>2/28/26. A little too heavy-handed, so I'm not sure I'll finish the series. But at least it doesn't take itself too seriously.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>2/25/26. Fascinating and well-written description of The Troubles in the 80s, but hard to get past the sheer law-shirking and promiscuous detective. Kind of an asshole, too. We'll see if I can get through another one of these.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>2/19/26. This was a lot of fun - really inventive, mysterious, and great main characters. Not sure I fully bought the cult or the reasons behind it but I loved the back-and-forth between today and the Vietnam War, and not even knowing who the cult leader was until the end!</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>2/14/26. I loved his first novel so I gave this one a whirl - not quite as compelling, and harder to keep going back because it was so many vignettes. Interesting format for sure! And he's a great writer so I will keep reading his books.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>2/4/26. Pretty ridiculous premise and I felt so bad for the detective's friend, because no one seemed to want her to be happy. But I think she will end up there eventually.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>1/29/26. "If you want to have sweet dreams, you gotta live a sweet life." I thought I had read this ages ago but I actually think this was my first time. It was SO wonderful. Sad and beautiful and funny, like all Kingsolvers.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/a2b89f99-56fb-4a45-80d0-76e990b0b3f7/IMG_7688.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/23/26. This one was pretty compelling - serial killer, drugs, romance. She does not cut corners when handling the detectives, poor souls.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/20/26. A murder mystery that didn't take itself too seriously, which made it much more fun. I really liked the main magician character, so I will likely keep reading this series.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/53ff8551-3996-490b-bceb-6666083bb93c/IMG_7667.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/16/26. This one drove me a little nuts for the first half - it's kind of hard to do a paranormal book after 6 other perfectly grounded books with the same characters. But once the murders actually started it got a lot better.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/8e03a88e-82a1-4d4a-ac37-3eb261308ca4/IMG_0059.PNG</image:loc>
      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/11/26. Continuing on my Kingsolver reread kick. For every good thing that happens to Taylor in The Bean Trees, she gets kicked around in this sequel. Still a wonderful read for this incredibly difficult time of my life in motherhood.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/4fe3d45c-f2b4-4006-9c77-33fd5f39feba/IMG_0056.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/9/26. This book infuriated me - I just could not stand the main character, which I guess is the point. But I almost wish I stopped reading because she was so incredibly over--the-top ridiculous. I think this book was meant for an audience that could relate to her more?</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/5/26. I loved this, through and through. Mostly a great picture of a sweet, incredibly smart, and lonely young girl, with a side of (very realistic) dystopia.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/658ee7cea596f54af98960a1/455c2eba-2e73-4e71-80b2-97e2c1660b90/IMG_0021.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/3/26. This was a fun, quick, mystery even if the resolution was somewhat silly. The characters were a bit too manufactured but I enjoyed it nonetheless.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>2026</image:title>
      <image:caption>1/2/26. I loved the voice actor but the narrator herself kind of killed me. If this was a lot shorter I would have enjoyed it more - good social commentary - but the various conclusion jumps and asides frustrated me.</image:caption>
